‘Newcomer’ Talks About the First Selectman Debate Held at the Academy

I am very surprised that there has been little discussion in the cafe today regarding the debate last evening. I went there with an open mind, as I almost always try to do. I was disappointed that there was not a larger turn-out. The students conducted themselves well.

As I posted today in another area of the cafe, I was surprised that Mrs. Valentine had so little in common with the other two candidates. I suppose some will view that as a pro and some as a con, depending on their view of her. I was left with an uneasy feeling actually.

Mrs. Valentine mentioned something that I had not heard about before. It seemed that the people sitting nearby me had not heard of it either. She didn’t describe the building location in her answer.

Something else that troubled me was in the closing statements. Mrs. Valentine flat-out went after Walker in what I would consider a rather nasty manner. Some might say that that’s just politics. Maybe so.
