What?? The famous Oliver Hazard Perry owned property in Woodstock?? Even as far back as 1869, Rhode Islanders have appreciated and migrated to this beautiful town! The esteemed Mr. Perry has an elementary school in Providence named after – my father was a student there back in the day.

I stand corrected (by my father) Admiral Perry’s school in Providence is a junior high/middle school, not elementary school. Perry was a famous Navy commander in his day.

Interesting that with in a couple of miles there are 4 dams providing
power! We need small hydro now! I don’t think there is any in
our area other than (Putnam).

Yes, but try and get the DEP to approve a hydro project at an existing dam, never mind reconstructing those breached ones and flooding some land.
Or a wind project-everyone is in favor of them until one is proposed within a couple of miles of someone’s house.

dbrownie,
Funny you should mention hydro power. We discussed the very idea in MFATF. Speaking with a friend who own and operates a hydro. co. we found out that Woodstock does not have a water source capable of generating the amount of force needed.

Bill;
I work near Detroit they told Henry Ford the same thing until his personal small hydro powered Dearborn! Small hydro is not the answer but a part of the energy puzzle (in my opinion).
