YES – 675 (85%)
NO – 123 (15%)
Low turnout, about 100 an hour. Keep your fingers crossed! Go vote if you haven’t…
Today’s Budget Referendum is from noon to eight o’clock. Make sure you get down to the town hall and cast your ballot. If the budget doesn’t pass we will have to make more cuts. This proposed budget is less than the current budget. Don’t let your vote go uncounted.

I went to Town Hall to vote today. When we exited, Suzanne Rosenbaum was sitting under a tent, within about 10 feet of the exit door, handing out “vote yes” pamphlets for the next referendum. Is that legal??
Been there already!
Low voter turn outs are not always good for the schools. Come on everyone, get out and vote!!!!
We put out vote in. I even waved hi to our friends.
Thanks,
Kevin

Just curious, isnt Chicklet a multiple pseudonym poster?
That’s going to be the name from now on. Admin
As a student, I’d like to thank the taxpayers who voted Yes today and passed the budget. Even though I’m at the Academy and (we all know the story, it wouldn’t get affected by a reduced budget), I still care about what happens in the K-8 system that I came from, and for the ability of the teachers to teach to their potential, and for fellow students to learn to their potential and have not just a learning place, but an active community.
Dismal turnout again. Don’t we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 registered voters in this town? And just shy of 800 bothered to turn out. Talk about a need to engage the community. Good grief!
Many folks in this town are afraid of the dreaded spotted couch absconder. It’s a wild animal living mostly in the hills that will take your couch away. Most folks chose to keep thier pasty butts nestled firmly in their sofas as a deterrent to this menace. What the heck, the town can run on it’s own. Right?
Firefighter:
“Pasty butts” is so much more telling than “couch potatoes.” Thank you for the picture.
I think the majority of people in town didn’t even know about the vote. My parents didn’t know about it at all. I only knew because of a recorded call from the school.
I think that is the major problems with referendums in this town. Everyone is out at work and there is no real way to convey the days these events are happening.
