How about we try a different approach toward instigating conversation on the cafe? Perhaps post an issue and discuss. Here are two
A. Bipartisan Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform:
1. Pathway to Citizenship
2. Reform Legal Immigration System
3. Create an Effective Employment
Verification System
4. Establish a Better Process for Admitting
Future Workers.
What do Cafers think about this? Is it a “go” or will it be tangled in typical DC gridlock. Discuss.
Next Issue.
B. A new study from the Veterans Administration shows that 22 soldiers committed suicide daily in 2010. This is a 10% increase since 1999. Overall suicide rate in America has increased by 31%.
Why do you think this is happening and what can we do to prevent this? Discuss.
Post each issue individually and see what happens!

Here are two more:
What has happened to “news” reporting in the US? With all the truly despicable things being done IN OUR NAME, ie, by the Federal and State Governments, you’d think that our newspapers’ front pages and radio/TV stations would have more meat than a recent Washington Post’s front page story on Martha’s Table and how it has after school programs. Not only does the dumbing down of “the news” fail to educate Americans, it also fails to get out the stories on people who are trying to make a difference, call attention to corruption or misconduct.
Then there’s the fact that the BIG bankers and lawyers who ARE guilty of massive fraud and corruption are not getting ANY punishment. Their firms get a big fine (usually only several weeks’ worth of business) but the people responsible are let off scot free. Bull dingy!
Actually, MY personal really angry issue is the non-attention of most news media, police, courts, and ESPECIALLY men to the ubiquitous problem of rape. … (see Diane’s new article. Admin).
